So, I didn't blog about it because I was kind of bummed, but I got injured a few weeks ago. My knee (iliotibial band to be precise) got strained, but surprisingly, running wasn't the primary culprit. I had started doing Ab Ripper X 3 times a week (from P90X), and the first 4 moves really stress your hip flexors and, apparently, your iliotibial band. Anywho, I had to take a week and a half off and slowly (well, not so slowly lately) work myself back. I can still feel that I had an issue there, but I think as long as I stay away from Ab Ripper for a few more weeks, I'll be fine.
It's really hard to say what it did to my fitness. I keep wavering back and forth as to whether I'm back to pre-injury levels. On one hand, I had a pretty darn good interval workout on Wednesday, but on the other, today I did 3.5 miles easy pace, and it wasn't particularly easy. If I had to run a half marathon in a couple days, I'm not sure whether I'd be able to match my time from last month or not. Oh well, it is what it is.
On the positive side: Wednesday's workout
Splits 2,4,6, and 8 are why it was a pretty solid workout, at least at this point in the season.
Anywho, here's hoping the weather stays nice and I don't get sidelined again this year.
